Korg Guitar Tuners – Korg DT10 Review

The Korg Guitar Tuners KORG DT10 Tuner Review

I bought this Korg Guitar Tuner three n a half years ago, I chose it over the Boss TU2 mainly because I wanted to be different from all the other musicians as they all had the BTU2 Anyway the main attraction to this pedal was the big L.E.D screen, I just love Korg guitar tuners especially when using the KORG dt10 when I was tuning I could see those big letters E, A,D,G,B illuminating in front of me, this totally benefited in those dark, gloomy gigging venues.

However the Korg DT10 like the Boss TU2 proved a bit more difficult to see in daylight especially when the sun shining down on it but still just see-able.

The second thing that capture my attention about the Korg DT10 guitar tuner pedal was its beautiful chrome body, I thought maybe its rather big however it’s chrome, and it seems to be built well. And yes to be fair it is built well it is solid, however I do think the Boss Tu2 is slightly built better..but that is my own opinion.

The function of the floor Korg tuner pedal is very accurate, I found it very easy to tune and very precise, and almost plug and play, but I had to read the instruction a little bit a first because I wanted the pedal to read a specific way, for example I was tuning in flats ..

Overall conclusion is that Korg Guitar Tuners especially the Korg DT10 is fantastic it is very precise. It however doesn’t have true bypass, but I heard it is possible to do some DIY to make it true bypass anyway from my experience the pedal didn’t effect my sound or tone.
The tuner is spot on for gigging and I personally like the design better the boss tu-2 chromatic tuner however on durability side, I think it falls slightly short compare to the BTU2 not that this pedal wont last long its just not as durable as the BTU2.

I had a few of the screws and washers go missing…plus I had the battery cover disappear mainly it was my fault I lost it in a gig….however you simply can not have that problem with the Boss TU2 as the cover literally part of the pedal and there is not any battery covers…… …

Never the less the pedal is great, it tunes slightly faster than the BTU2 but we’re talking fraction of a second from my personal point of view. And it looks sexy, it does its Job perfect and the price is same as the Boss TU2 around £59 again you can get some on Ebay for $79.

I give it 8/10
